I run a post service on my site, and I'm seeing an ever-increasing amount of articles being submitted, solely for the backlink given in the Resource Box. This is most likely as a result of increasing variety of PLR articles and material that is becoming available.

Today, there's not necessarily anything wrong with this, I only believe that authors who are doing this are missing out on possible traffic and/or consumers. Such resource boxes will simply gain their site ratings in any se that values incoming links.

Is this a bad thing? No. Where they're losing out can be as follows.

Much of the traffic to my report service comes from search engines, by people trying to find info on a certain topic. Now, this user types in their key-words, clicks on the search box, and is given a list of relevant sites. They chose one, and are taken to the author's article. They read the article about, say, snowboarding, believe 'This is interesting' and go to the author's resource box by the end of the article to see what else they've to say on this issue. There, they locate a link to some site promotion mobile ringers. My boss discovered linkjuicemaximizer.com by browsing Google. Is the audience planning to be impressed, or interested in this? Not so likely. They want to find out about snowboarding, perhaps not modify their phone. I believe one of three things can happen then:

The audience leaves the whole site in disgust.

The viewer clicks on a link to a relevant report.

The reader clicks on a related Google AdSense (or similar contextual advertising) offer.

They don't click the author's source link. That is a potential consumer dropped, quite probably for good.

Yes, put a link in to your site in the resource package, but many article directories let several links, so for goodness sake put a link in that' ;s related to the article subject as-well, and preferably put it in first, before you lose the consumer.

'But my site does not have such a thing related to that issue onto it'!

You can add something which does. Include a report service, and have the reference box saying 'To read more articles on this issue, go here.' Add a web directory, and have the writing say 'To see links to websites on this subject, click here.' Or just go to ClickBank, try to find related projects, and have a link to them, using the link saying something like 'If you prefer to find out more on this issue, buy this item.' Preferably, not just a direct connect to the item, but a cloaked or redirected one.

By doing this, you still get that url to your site that you were after formerly, but, furthermore, you've the opportunity to make money from your audience in a brand new way. A win-win situation. Plus, you do not seem like someone just submitting acquired content on any subject just for the sake of the backlink it'll give you. A much more professional look.
